This very effective pop-up blocker keeps a blacklist of all stopped pop-ups for easy management and includes a couple of additional privacy features. Unlike some other pop-up blockers, Stopzilla does not add buttons or a toolbar to your browser--you have to control it from its own interface. Fortunately that interface is easily accessible from a system tray icon. Beyond its configuration screen, which you can set and forget, it includes a blacklist screen that shows the URLs for blocked pop-ups. We found that it works best to keep this window open while you surf. Stopzilla proved to be very effective, keeping any unrequested pop-ups from appearing. Unfortunately, it is a bit too effective, blocking pop-ups we wanted to see, such as one that offered various preferences for online-movie viewing. Right-clicking the blocked pop-up in the blacklist gives you the chance to allow it. Besides its main feature of pop-up blocking, the program also offers a history and cookie cleaner. If you find you can't stop the pop-ups, this app will do the trick.
